The Immigration team is getting started and is focusing on finding ways to support the individuals affected by our current administration’s immigration policies, as well as ways to change or disrupt those policies.

The LGBTQ2S+ team is meeting regularly to build community and plan actions. Activities include tabling at Trans Joy Fest and Pride, submitting letters to the editor, distributing paper rainbow/trans/intersectional flags to display across the area, and creating more sober spaces for community members to gather and socialize. More outreach, education, and support plans are in the works.

Indivisible Women of Duluth (Women’s Rights team) is advocating for the rights, health, and well-being of women in the Northland through organized action, community engagement, and unwavering defense of reproductive and civil liberties.

We organize to protect and expand the rights of all workers - across all backgrounds, industries, and statuses - by building local power, demanding accountability, and advancing pro-worker policies. Through strategic advocacy, public education, and coalition-building, we work to ensure every worker has a voice, fair treatment, and a stake in a just economy.

Team Objectives
Education: Inform team members and then the community at large about pending legislation that can impact their right as citizens to vote and change the way they are allowed to register to vote.Training: Prepare members to register voters at community events and other underserved locations.
Facilitation: Help people retrieve documentation necessary to register to vote or obtain MN REAL ID. Recruit volunteers with legal and social service expertise to provide 1:1 assistance. Seek funding sources to cover the cost of obtaining documents if necessary.
Advocacy:
Contact Representatives in Congress (senators in all states).
Write Letters to the Editor for Duluth News Tribune or Reader.
Identify and forward to members publications that help illuminate issues that threaten our democracy.

Watch for the billboard project which will appear on Central Entrance incorporating inspiring quotes with custom art created by local artists.

The Healthcare Team has been focusing attention primarily on the looming cuts to Medicaid. The team organized a community information session with panelists of experts representing health and mental health care, county services, and individuals who rely on Medicaid. The developed a Medicaid fact sheet (see Resources) with to share across the community, to use as talking points with friends and neighbors, and to inform specific action items to address in weekly calls and emails to our legislators, or letters to the editor, etc.
