  • Indivisible Women of Duluth (Women’s Rights team) is advocating for the rights, health, and well-being of women in the Northland through organized action, community engagement, and unwavering defense of reproductive and civil liberties.

Since the "Pad it Forward" campaign, we have been taking a break.  The core group of the Women's Rights Team met recently to talk about where we go from here. Decisions were:

WE NEED MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED We have 45 people on the email route but only 5 or 6 people actively involved. Please let us know if you would like to volunteer to dig in and help on projects.

Spirit Valley Days Parade   August 6, 2026
We plan to participate again this year and hope to create a float with a mock-up ship of the USS Constitution. Any signs and leaflets will emphasize the right to vote.  Ideally, we could participate in a few other parades or community events as well.

    Pad it Forward
After the success of Pad It Forward, we are planning a Pad it Forward 2 event to help supply local shelters with feminine hygiene products. We found a great website to purchase products so will focus on monetary donations.  Watch for information.

    OUR TEAM WORKS ON:
Education: Inform team members and then the community at large about pending legislation that can impact their right as citizens to vote and change the way they are allowed to register to vote.

Training: Prepare members to register voters at community events and other underserved locations.

Facilitation: Help people retrieve documentation necessary to register to vote or obtain MN REAL ID. Recruit volunteers with legal and social service expertise to provide 1:1 assistance. Seek funding sources to cover the cost of obtaining documents if necessary.

    Advocacy:

    • Contact Representatives in Congress (senators in all states).

    • Write Letters to the Editor for Duluth News Tribune or Reader.

    • Identify and forward to members publications that help illuminate issues that threaten our democracy.

  • Our team recently organized the October 2025 Duluth Indivisible Meeting with an informative presentation on how Duluth was transformed from declining, polluted industrial city to an outdoor recreation destination with cleaner lands and water. Find the PowerPoint here!

  • The Healthcare Team has been focusing attention primarily on the cuts to Medicaid. The team organized a community information session with panelists of experts representing health and mental health care, county services, and individuals who rely on Medicaid. The developed a Medicaid fact sheet (see Resources) with to share across the community, to use as talking points with friends and neighbors, and to inform specific action items to address in  weekly calls and emails to our legislators, or letters to the editor, etc. =
